his May, over 130 Business BASIC developers converged at TechCon2001 to learn about the new tools for Web development, GUI migration, electronic commerce and distributed computing that BASIS, IBM, Sun Microsystems and our other partners offer. Thanks to all who attended, staffed, presented and exhibited for yet another great conference!

Because TechCon2001 focused on important concepts regarding our new Java-based product, BBj®, we've filled this issue with information from the presentations. You may have missed the camaraderie, the networking and the one-on-one questions and answers, but you can still learn much of the information. Our primary goal with TechCon2001 was to introduce you to the full spectrum of development capabilities BBj offers and to develop materials that could be expanded to form a core curriculum for BBj training. We received valuable feedback during and after the conference, and we'll be working on this in addition to enhancing BBj in the coming months.
