JVM 1.4.2 Improves:
Performance Memory Footprint Garbage Collection Look and Feel for Windows XP and GTK+

The recent release of the 1.4.2 JVM includes many exciting improvements for BBj developers. For example, the 1.4.2 JVM significantly increases BBj's performance by using new and faster Linux thread libraries, numerous bug fixes, memory leak fixes, improved garbage collection algorithms, and refactoring several portions of the 1.4.2 code. These enhancements provide BBj developers with faster starting, running, and file access times.

The 1.4.2 JVM also includes graphical elements matching the look and feel of Windows XP and GTK+ for graphical UNIX. BBj takes advantage of this look and feel capability by providing new development methods that produce modern and aesthetically appealing graphical interfaces, all with very little coding effort. Early feedback from BBj developers report system performance improvements of 50% or more.
