2. BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT (top of page)
BBj® 8.0 or higher is required to run the Barista Application Framework.

In this release, Barista has changed the location of synchronization (.syn) files.  This affects .syn files created using the Barista Create Application utility.   These files were previously stored in the config/enu/ directory for any application, and have been moved up one level in the structure to the config directory.  During startup, the release will attempt to move the location of /barista/config/enu/barista.syn to /barista/config/barista.syn, and move all files defined in barista.syn.  Once completed, it may be necessary to manually move or modify files not located in the standard Barista created directory structure.  The manual steps are:

  1. Move /barista/config/enu/barista.syn to /barista/config/barista.syn.
  2. Modify the entries in barista.syn to remove the three character language subdirectory.  For example, SYN=/userapp/config/enu/userapp.syn should be changed to SYN=/userapp/config/userapp.syn
  3. Physically move the location of the specified files (above) to match the location in the barista.syn file. For example, move /userapp/config/enu/userapp.syn to /userapp/config/userapp.syn
