Marketing Communique BASIS International
Date:  February 23, 2006
Subject:  BASIS Restructures Pricing Effective on April 10, 2006
Number:  MC-06001

BASIS International Ltd. restructures pricing with a combination of price reductions and increases, and further simplification of the pricing table.

There is a price reduction at the 1 to 4 user tier, designed to reduce entry point costing for BBx technology and to facilitate the collapse of the bottom two user tiers into one single tier. The remaining tiers receive a price increase. A noteworthy detail; this price increase marks the first new user price increase since 1996! During the 10 years that followed, BASIS instituted several price reductions that dropped the 1996 single user price of $225 to April's equivalent price of $165.

In addition, the price restructure reflects the last step in the process of the change from revision-based upgrade pricing to time-based upgrade pricing first begun in January 2004. In the future, most upgrades will either consist of SAM buy-back or SAM re-instatement. BASIS continues to recognize the value of much older BASIS products by always offering a discount on upgrades to current product. In other words, someone with an older version of a BASIS product will never have to pay list price to upgrade to a current license.

Considering these overall changes – the normalized pricing schedule and the realigned pricing matrix – doing business with BASIS becomes easier and more straightforward.
