The latest version of SCO OpenServer 5.0.7 offers
- Support for the Java 2 SE v1.4.2
- USB Printer Support - USB 2.0-compliant (and backwards compatible with USB 1.1) printer-class driver supports USB printers.
- Hyper-threading - Intel® Pentium® 4 and Intel Xeon® processors hyper-threading is included and does not
require additional CPU licenses.
- Large ATA Disk Support - ATA Hard Disks greater than 137 GB are supported.
- New Shells
- GNU Bourne Again Shell (bash) - This popular shell from the GNU Project is largely POSIX P1003.2 compliant. It includes
most Korn Shell (ksh) features and is suited to interactive use. Most existing shell scripts run correctly with bash.
- The Z-Shell (zsh) - This shell is best suited for interactive usage. Highly programmable command- and file name-completion
is compatible with the Kron shell (ksh). Current C-shell users find its features familiar. A full FTP client is available to
assess built in shell commands, and additional loadable modules. The shell is extensible with other third-party modules.
- TCSH - This Berkeley C-Shell (csh) compatible shell is improved and adds fixes and command line editing. It is not
compatible with the SCO csh.
